Tiara and your face

The tiara, the veil and different headpieces used to decorate and adorn the bride’s hair and contribute largely in transforming her appearance. They will make the bride appear like a princess. So select such tiaras and headpieces that will attract every body’s attention towards you and not away from you.

Your face type is very important factor to be taken into consideration while selecting the tiara for your hairs. You may have long, spherical or oval face. So select the tiara that will suit and compliment your face.

If you have a long face, then it would be better to go along with a low and a flat tiara or a headband. This is so because a pointed or a high tiara will make your face appear even longer. If your face is round, then almost any type of tiara will suit you. But even then, if you select a tiara that rises to a point in the center will be more complimentary and make your appear elegant. If you have a petite face, then you have to be very careful in selecting your tiara.

Choose a large tiara that will make your face appear a bit longer and overwhelm you. This tiara should be worn in such a way that it should make your face attractive by framing it, and not distract attention away from it.

Bridal tiara is one of the most essential wedding accessories as it gives a princess like rich look to the bride. A large variety of tiaras is available in the market. Tiaras are adorned with rhinestones, pearls, crystals etc. Selection of wedding accessories wisely is very important; hence you should be very careful about how to choose wedding tiaras.

If don’t know how to choose wedding tiaras, always try to make a right selection considering the style and color of your wedding gown. The important factors you should keep in mind while choosing the wedding tiaras are shape of your face, your wedding gown and your overall look. A veil and tiara can enhance your beauty as well as catch attention towards your flaws. Selection of wrong tiara can make your face appear longer or fat. The general rule about the headpiece is that it should balance the shape of your face. For a round face, princess tiara with peaks is suitable which can elongate your face. A flat and wide tiara goes will with long faces. Tiara with heavy beading or other embellishment is ideal for a long, thin face. Any type of perfectly symmetrical tiaras can go well with the oval faces.

Your bridal tiara should match your wedding gown. Ideally, beads, pearls, crystals, colors and patterns that are used in your wedding gown should be repeated in your tiara. If your gown is elaborated and embroidered, then your tiara should be decorated in the same style. A gown with clean lines requires more streamlined tiara. Pearl tiara goes well with cream colored or ivory gown. Crystal or rhinestone tiaras without any ornamentation are ideal for any dress.

Remember one thing that you strive for the balanced look on your special day and hence, your selection of wedding accessories should be a symbol of elegance and taste. Wise selection of tiara and veil can offer you a really polished and elaborate wedding look.

Wearing a veil and a tiara

Weddings are extremely special occasions for all brides who have waited for “The Day” ever since they were little girls. Brides like to adorn themselves with a number of things on this special day. They can make use of beautiful headpieces, veils, tiaras, shoes, purses, wedding gowns, etc and so many things to make themselves look beautiful and appealing.

Selecting these wedding accessories wisely is no doubt, one of the important factor, but wearing them with tact is also an important factor to be considered. Let us see how to wear the veil and the tiara that you have selected for your wedding day.

If you are planning to wear the veil at the top of the head, then see that the veil joins the base of the tiara without leaving any gap. You can sew the veil to the tiara itself with an invisible thread or use Velcro instead to attach it to the veil. This makes it easy to remove it during reception or kissing during the marriage ceremony. You can also dance by removing the veil and leave the tiara on your head so that that you look like a princess.

Wear the veil by raising its top layer over the tiara. The blusher will create a more soften look and will create a romantic mood. If you have an elaborated hairdo of your hairs, then the correct way of wearing the tiara is placing it pretty back against the hair without leaving any gap. You can also attach the veil behind your hairdo to get a better effect.

How to wear a veil and tiara

Wearing the veil and a tiara properly is also a skill and needs to be done carefully so that the bride is comfortable with it for the next few hours. There is a particular way of putting on a veil with the comb and of wearing a tiara.

You can start by holding the comb in a upside down direction, so that the concave side will be facing upwards. Pull both the layers of the tulle backwards and the blusher layer on the top. Then rotate the comb in the forward direction with the concave side downwards. Now you can slide it into the hairs. The tiara should be slide at an angle of 45 degrees on your head. Make adjustments in the tiara, so that there is no gap visible between the tiara and the veil. Bend the tiara band gently if you want a snug fit, so that it will fit the shape of your head. If there are pin loops, then secure the tiara with bobby pins so that it will be held in its place.

Then the ends of the exposed band can be covered with the hairs. If you want to wear the tiara without a veil to keep your hairs down, then slant the tiara a bit to get the best effect. Do not perch it on the top of the head or it will make you appear like a beauty pageant winner instead of a bride.

Making a tiara at home

Making a tiara or a headband is very easy and it takes just an hour or two to do the job. For making a tiara at home, you will need the following supplies: floral wire, beads, wire headband, wire cutters and needle nose pliers.

Cut the wire headband in short pieces and then thread it in the beads till it gets settled in a proper angle. Pinch both the ends together. Now hold the bead in your hands and the pother end of the wire with scissors. Start twisting the ends of the wire along with the beads till it gets twisted tightly. Now leave both the free ends untwisted and cut them so that they become even. Trim the free ends upto 3/4th” in length. These ends can be wrapped around your headband when you wear it.

Once the antennae is ready, then start wrapping the free ends at the base of the headband and then the ends should be flattened with the help of the pliers on the headband. They appear bended and you can also straighten them or curve them. You can modify them accordingly to make it appear exactly the way which you want.

After this wrap a long wire on the band, put beads on it covering the base below the antennae. This will cover all the wire ends that are otherwise, seen. You can also add a viola to your homemade tiara for the sake of finishing and decorating it.

Choose a tiara according to the shape of your face

A tiara is referred as the princess of headpieces that gives you the most impressive effect. They add a fantastic accent to any type of wedding gown be it a simple sheath styled one or a ball gown style. You can wear a tiara with or without a veil that is usually decorated with crystals, pearls and rhinestones.

It is important to choose a tiara depending on the shape of your face. The tiara that you wear should draw the attention of others towards your face and not draw attention away from it. A wrong-shaped tiara can make your face appear very long or thin or very short and full. So it is important to select the tiara properly.

For a round face, to make it appear a bit longer, a tiara with some height or the one that has a peak is generally recommended.

For those with a long face, tiaras with a very little or no height is suggested. This will extend above the head from either of the sides up to an uneven height.

Brides with oval face should avoid the tiaras with a peak at the top. This is so because tiaras wit a peak will make the face appear even longer. It is recommended to wear a forehead piece, hair band or a back piece. This will help in making your face appear less oval.

For those with a full face, wearing a tiara that makes a “V” at the top is well suited. This creates an illusion of a longer face.
