Wedding is a happy occasion and all the happy occasions are incomplete without the cutting a scrumptious cake. All the couples cut a cake on the day of their wedding as a symbol of sweet happiness that will follow in their lives. It is a glamorous tradition and sign of fun and enjoyment. But, there are some rules or we can say tips to be followed before actually cutting the cake to really enjoy the charm of cutting it.

Display the wedding cake topper at the reception on a table that is decorated beautifully. The cake should be placed near the bride’s table and its display should not block the view of the head table. Also place an ornamental knife well decorated with ribbons on the table.

It is also very important that cutting the cake ceremony takes place at the right time during the wedding ceremony. During the informal ceremonies, the right time of cutting the cake is after receiving the guests and giving them the toasts. But, in case of formal ceremonies it is better to serve it following the main dinner.

The bride must hold the knife in the right hand; whereas the groom should stand behind her slightly covering her right hand to make the cut. The piece is supposed to be fed by the groom to the bride and the second piece vice versa. Then, a family member or catering staff must cut the remaining slices. The cake must be served with coffee or some beverages keeping in mind the guests’ choice.
